Seneca County Permits

The county engineer will review and process all permits on county roads across Seneca county and also all permits on township roads except in the following townships:

Eden, Liberty, Pleasant, Reed and Scipio

Please contact these townships to process the following permits needed. (Refer to Township Info page for more contact information)

All permits are valid for 12 months after approval. Permits may be extended by the Engineer

The county engineer will accept all permits completed in person at the Seneca County Engineers Office, 3300 S. TR 151, Tiffin, OH 44883 or email to - ltracy@senecacountyohio.gov.

Driveway Permit (Now Fillable PDF)

Access to roadway is controlled. Only one drive may be installed on a residential lot. Driveways will not be approved adjacent to intersections. General guidance is 400' safety distance. These provisions may be waived upon site conditions.

Frontage, as set forth in the Seneca Regional Planning Commission, Subdivision Regulations is required to be permittable for access.  Frontage that is unable to have a driveway permit issued, will not be considered.

Driveway Widths MAY NOT exceed 40'.

Railroad Permit

Railroad\Roadway closures are controlled. Only one consecutive crossing may be closed at any time. Permits to close roadways at railroad crossings are considered a burden on Public Safety, Fire and EMS and SHALL be limited in scope and duration. Any two consecutive crossing closures will be considered a violation.
